Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your WeCrossed profile and what happens to your data when you do.
How to request deletion
Deletion has to happen from inside the WeCrossed app itself. Deleting your profile requires a signature from your device's own private key, so it's not something we can trigger for you by email or from a web page, even if you ask us to.
The steps:
- Open WeCrossed and go to your Profile tab.
- Tap the settings icon.
- Tap "Delete profile."
- Confirm on the "Delete your profile?" dialog.
Your profile is removed immediately. This can't be undone, and there's no recovery period.
If you no longer have the app
If you've lost access to your device or uninstalled the app, you can't submit a deletion request. This is the same cryptographic reason we can't do it for you: nobody, including us, can produce that signature except your own device. In that case your profile still expires on its own, automatically, within 7 days of when it was last published.
What's deleted, and what's retained
There's no option to delete only some of your data while keeping your profile. Tapping "Delete profile" immediately and permanently removes:
- Your profile bundle from our server, including your photos.
- Your push notification token, if you had one.
- Every local copy of your data on that device: your profile, matches, chats, friends, and settings.
Encounters, matches, and chats already created before you deleted your profile may briefly persist afterward. They're encrypted and addressed by random tokens, not your name or email, so we never had a way to link them back to you. All of it expires within 7 days regardless.
Deletion doesn't reach copies already on other people's devices. If someone had matched with you, whatever they'd already downloaded, like your photos, stays on their device. We have no way to remove it remotely, or to confirm whether they've kept it, screenshotted it, or deleted it themselves.
